We, Palestinians, Jews, citizens of Israel, join the Palestinian call for a BDS campaign against Israel, inspired by the struggle of South Africans against apartheid. We also call on others to do the same.
We are devoted to the promotion of just peace and true democracy in this region. We are particularly opposed to Western governments' decision to boycott the Palestinians in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, most especially in besieged Gaza. This is particularly outrageous given the same Western governments' prolonged support of Israel's apartheid and other daily violations of international law.

/*-->*/ Dear Philip Catherine,   We are a group of Israeli citizens who support the Palestinian call for boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS). We oppose our government's policies of racism, apartheid and occupation, and we strongly believe that without international pressure, it will be almost impossible to reverse these policies.

Dear members of Interpol, Blonde Redhead, and Jane's Addiction, We are a group of Israeli citizens who support the Palestinian call for Boycott, Divestment and sanction (BDS) on Israel until it complies with international law and human-rights values. [1] We love your music, and we would love the opportunity to attend your show, but at this time we would like to ask you to reconsider your planned performances in Israel.

Dear South African students, We are members of BOYCOTT! Supporting the Palestinian BDS Call from Within [1], a group of Israeli students, professors, citizens, and residents who are active against our government's policies of apartheid, occupation and racism. We would like to express our solidarity with South Africa's leading student groups, who intend to challenge and boycott a delegation of Israeli students arriving in South Africa on a propaganda mission, titled, "What Is Rael", on 11/8/2011. The Israeli student delegation is part of a well-orchestrated Israeli establishment attempt to whitewash severe violations of human rights, including war crimes, through a fictitious display of "diversity and democracy".

Dear Renee Fleming,   We are a group of Israeli citizens. We would like to inform you of a few important details.   The venue which has been selected for your concert in Jerusalem, Binyanei Hauma, is owned by the Jewish Agency and the Jerusalem municipality (http://www.jpost.com/LandedPages/PrintArticle.aspx?id=211329).  The Jewish Agency has been a key player in Israel's violent colonization project throughout the occupied West Bank (http://www.jafi.org.il/JewishAgency/English/Aliyah/Absorpton+Options/Bayit1/Regional+Councils/bayitemekjordan.htm).  The Jerusalem Municipality is a racist authority which demolishes Palestinian homes in East Jerusalem, and severely discriminates against Jerusalem's Palestinian population (http://www.hrw.org/en/reports/2010/12/19/separate-and-unequal-0).

April 10th, 2011 “Another trillion spent by the government Here the bomb go, sent by the president Power to the people, 'cause the people want peace” We are members of the Israeli group BOYCOTT! Supporting the Palestinian BDS Call from Within.[1] In 2005 Palestinian civil society initiated a call for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) from Israeli institutions, companies and academia.[2] Six years later, the call has become an international movement, adopted by civil society world-wide, and invigorating student movements around the globe.

To: The President and board of directors of the Sanrio company, Dear Sir/Mme We are a group of Israeli citizens. We support the Palestinian civil society call for boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) against Israel's policies. We find it deeply regrettable that your company has decided to cooperate with Israeli franchiser Leader Brands and open a Hello Kitty store in Givatayim, followed by the opening of stores in other Israeli cities. Your decision comes at a time when Israel intensifies its brutal occupation and apartheid policies against Palestinians, while ignoring hundreds of the UN resolutions.

Source: http://www.endtheoccupation.org/article.php?id=3039 The Jerusalem Film Festival foreign office has confirmed that legendary basketball star and actor Kareem Abdul-Jabbar reversed plans to visit Israel due to concerns arising “after the Nakba Day violence.” Abdul-Jabbar was slated to present his film, “On the Shoulders Of Giants,” at the festival next month, as a candidate for the “Spirit of Freedom Award ." According to YNet News, his visit was scheduled in coordination with the Israeli Foreign Ministry and the Israeli Consulate of New York.
30/06/11 / Statement
June 28th, 2011 Dear Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, We are writing to commend you for your principled decision not to attend the Jerusalem Film Festival in response to “concern over the Nakba Day violence,” as indicated by the festival’s foreign office. Indeed, Israel’s brutally violent suppression of peaceful Palestinian youth demonstrations and its shoot-to-kill policy during the Nakba Day protests, in particular, should convince any person of conscience not to lend his or her good name to institutions that divert attention away from Israeli state brutality and human rights violations.
