Dear Prof. Jessica Benjamin,

As activists against the occupation of Palestine, we view struggles for freedom of oppressed peoples and struggles against other forms of oppression as inter-related. Therefore, feminist lectures given in Israeli universities, which are institutions that support the very foundation of the occupation of Palestinians, may be feminist in content, but surely not in essence.

We believe that ignoring the Palestinian call for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions against Israel is tantamount to sending a message of support to the Israeli establishment. Neglecting to oppose the occupation, in this case, is supporting it, as it enables Israel to maintain a façade of "business as usual", while committing ongoing atrocities and war crimes against the Palestinian people. This façade is what enables the occupation to persist and thrive, with the support of the Israeli society and the international community.

It is a time for people around the world to unite around the Palestinian call to boycott Israel. Especially after the murderous assault on Gaza, the movement is gaining momentum worldwide. The impact of supporting it now is extremely significant given the overall struggle for justice in Palestine. We hope you would be willing to change your mind, endorse the Palestinian call and cancel your lectures in Israel. We would be more than willing to support you in any way possible once you do that.

Sincerely,
