Palestinians, Jews, citizens of Israel, join the Palestinian call for a BDS campaign against Israel

We, Palestinians, Jews, citizens of Israel, join the Palestinian call for a BDS campaign against Israel, inspired by the struggle of South Africans against apartheid. We also call on others to do the same.
As people devoted to the promotion of just peace and true democracy in this region, we are especially opposed to the international community's decision to boycott the Palestinians in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. This is particularly outrageous given the international community's prolonged support of Israel's apartheid and other daily violations of international law.

Letter of support of UC Berkeley SJP

April 5, 2010
Dear Friends at UC Berkeley SJP,

Two weeks ago news of the vote to divest UC Berkeley from companies that provide military support for the Israeli occupation has reached us here in Israel. Like many who have been working hard to liberate Palestine and restore justice to Palestinians, we were very happy to hear of your decision.

Amitav Ghosh, Margaret Atwood, Say NO to Prizes from the Israeli Apartheid!

OPEN LETTER
March 30, 2010

Dear Margaret Atwood, Amitav Ghosh,

We are Israeli citizens and residents, Jews and Palestinians, who are committed to the Palestinian struggle for justice and freedom. We heard with dismay that you are set to attend this spring an apartheid-complicit[1] Tel Aviv University's symposium, where you are to receive a prize. We urge you to heed the Palestinian call for a boycott of Israeli academic institutions[2], reject that prize, and refrain from attending the symposium or any other Israeli academic event.

BOYCOTT! supports Sarah Schulman's boycott of Israeli Universities

OPEN LETTER
March 30, 2010
Dear Sarah Schulman,

We at BOYCOTT![1] would like to praise you for your important decision to boycott state-run and apartheid-complicit Tel-Aviv University[2] and Ben Gurion University of the Negev[3], who invited you to their "Sex Acher 10" conference in Israel this year. By engaging in the academic institutional boycott of Israel you are helping to raise the oppressed Palestinian voice instead of adopting a "business as usual" attitude towards the Israeli apartheid.

An Open Letter to the Pixies

March 1, 2010

Dear Pixies,

We are a group of Israeli human rights activists. We heard through the media that you are planning a concert in Israel in June. As much as some of us are huge fans and would love to hear your show, we won't cross the international picket line that is growing in numbers steadily nowadays to come and see you.

We cannot be neutral on a moving train! Open Letter to the International Geographical Union (IGU)

As geographers, faculty, students, and people of conscience, we are profoundly dismayed by IGU’s decision to hold its July 2010 regional conference in Tel Aviv, in violation of the widely endorsed Palestinian civil society call for Boycott, Divestments, and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel. We are equally troubled by IGU’s response [1] to the open letter issued by the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI), which urged the Executive Committee to relocate the upcoming regional conference out of Israel [2].

Supporting SAIA, Students Against Israeli Apartheid at Carleton University

February 7th, 2010
Dear Friends at SAIA, Students Against Israeli Apartheid - Carleton,

We are a group of Palestinians and Jews, citizens and residents of Israel, who are struggling to end Israeli apartheid and the decades-long occupation and oppression of the Palestinians. We are writing  to express our unequivocal support of SAIA's admirable divestment campaign at Carleton University. We will stand by you, as SAIA struggles to insure that the Carleton University pension fund disinvests initially from five companies deeply involved in Israel's subjugation of the Palestinians in the occupied territories, in gross violation of universal human rights and of International Law. Four of these five companies went as far as supplying the crucial means of destruction for the Dec. '08-Jan. '09 Israeli onslaught on Gaza.

BOYCOTT! supports Bergen University’s decision to allow an open debate on the possibility of a boycott of Israeli academic institutions

A letter to Professor Sigmund Grønmo, Rector of Bergen University

                                                                                    January 31, 2010

Dear Professor Grønmo,

We are a group of Palestinians and Jews, citizens and residents of Israel, who are struggling to end the Israeli occupation and oppression of the Palestinians. We are writing to you in order to support your courageous decision to allow an open debate regarding the possibility of a boycott of Israeli academic institutions.  Following PACBI’s Open Letter to your university community, urging you all to boycott the Israeli Academy,[1] we too wish to encourage you to seriously consider responding positively to the Palestinian call for an Academic and Cultural boycott of Israel[2] and implementing their request for a comprehensive academic and cultural boycott of Israeli academic institutions. We fully endorse PACBI’s request that you “declare that Israeli universities cannot be considered normal partners in the pursuit of academic endeavors, so long as they continue to collude in the perpetration of human rights violations and, in some cases, war crimes”.
