BOYCOTT! supports Sarah Schulman's boycott of Israeli Universities
OPEN LETTER
March 30, 2010
Dear Sarah Schulman,
OPEN LETTER
March 30, 2010
Dear Sarah Schulman,
March 1, 2010
Dear Pixies,
We are a group of Israeli human rights activists. We heard through the media that you are planning a concert in Israel in June. As much as some of us are huge fans and would love to hear your show, we won't cross the international picket line that is growing in numbers steadily nowadays to come and see you.
As geographers, faculty, students, and people of conscience, we are profoundly dismayed by IGU’s decision to hold its July 2010 regional conference in Tel Aviv, in violation of the widely endorsed Palestinian civil society call for Boycott, Divestments, and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel. We are equally troubled by IGU’s response [1] to the open letter issued by the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI), which urged the Executive Committee to relocate the upcoming regional conference out of Israel [2].

Don’t let the Israel Ballet tip-toe around Apartheid!
A letter to Professor Sigmund Grønmo, Rector of Bergen University
January 31, 2010
Dear Professor Grønmo,
We are a group of Palestinians and Jews, citizens and residents of Israel, who are struggling to end the Israeli occupation and oppression of the Palestinians. We are writing to you in order to support your courageous decision to allow an open debate regarding the possibility of a boycott of Israeli academic institutions. Following PACBI’s Open Letter to your university community, urging you all to boycott the Israeli Academy,[1] we too wish to encourage you to seriously consider responding positively to the Palestinian call for an Academic and Cultural boycott of Israel[2] and implementing their request for a comprehensive academic and cultural boycott of Israeli academic institutions. We fully endorse PACBI’s request that you “declare that Israeli universities cannot be considered normal partners in the pursuit of academic endeavors, so long as they continue to collude in the perpetration of human rights violations and, in some cases, war crimes”.
We, Palestinians, Jews, citizens and residents of Israel, struggling to end the occupation and oppression of the Palestinians are distressed to learn that a gala is to be held for Israel in Stockholm, celebrating “the Israeli democracy”.
To the Initiators of the Cairo Declaration,
We, members of BOYCOTT!, would like to express our vote of support for the "Cairo Declaration", issued by the Gaza Freedom Marchers on January 1st, 2010. We are proud to stand together with fellow responsible citizens of the world and reiterate our shared commitment to demanding human rights for all and respect for International Law.
